The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) revealed that a total of 433,578 persons had been affected by flooding across 27 states and 123 local government areas of the country as of November 4, 2025.

According to the 2025 flood dashboard obtained on Sunday, 144,790 people were displaced by the floods, while 241 lives were lost.

NEMA also confirmed 839 injuries and 115 persons missing nationwide.

The data further showed that the disaster damaged 52,509 houses and destroyed 74,767 hectares of cultivated farmlands, leaving thousands of households without shelter and livelihoods.

The demographic data showed that 82,820 men, 133,407 women, 197,566 children, and 19,985 elderly persons were affected.

In addition, 2,503 persons with disabilities were impacted by the floods.

The Geopolitical Impact Assessment on the dashboard revealed that the South-South recorded the highest number of affected persons at 122,000, with 71,000 displaced.

It is followed by the North-East, which recorded 105,000 affected persons and 31,000 displaced, while the North-West had 78,000 affected and 13,000 displaced.

The South-West region recorded 62,000 affected persons and 4,000 displaced, the South-East had 53,000 affected and 23,000 displaced, while the North Central region recorded 13,000 affected and 3,000 displaced.

NEMA identified several key challenges in the aftermath of the floods, including resource shortages (60 per cent), security risk (nine per cent), inaccessibility (18 per cent), community resistance (eight per cent), and coordination (four per cent).

The agency identified food, shelter, water, and sanitation, health services, and livelihood support as the most urgent needs of victims, followed by nutrition, education, protection, and security.
