Legal representative and campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has threatened Senator Francis Fadahunsi with a ₦10 billion defamation lawsuit over allegations linking him to cultism and thuggery.
In a formal letter dated 12 August 2026, Olajengbesi’s solicitor, Hammed Lasisi, gave the lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial District a 24-hour ultimatum to issue an unreserved public apology and retract comments made during live broadcasts on Viable TV on 2 July 2026 and Channels Television’s Politics Today on 11 August 2026.
According to the letter, during the July broadcast, Fadahunsi attacked Olajengbesi’s identity, claiming he was “not even from the same Ijebu-Jesha” and came “from somewhere in Ogun State,” while further alleging that he was “using thugs, Eiye and Aye.”
The senator doubled down on the claims during his 11 August appearance, directly referencing the late Ajayi Aderogba (alias Rogba), stating: “Rogba is an Eiye man sponsored by Barr. Olajengbesi terrorising the whole … my own territory up and down through all these Eiye and Aye.”
Olajengbesi strongly denied the claims, describing them as malicious and damaging to his standing as a legal practitioner, public figure, and electoral candidate. His counsel noted that his client has never funded or deployed any cult group or individuals to terrorise or intimidate the public.
Should Fadahunsi fail to retract the statements across the same broadcasting and digital media platforms within the 24-hour deadline, Olajengbesi’s legal team vowed to institute court proceedings to compel payment of ₦10 billion in general and aggravated damages.
