American online streamer Darren Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, on Sunday met Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and his children during the FIFA Club World Cup final.
A video from IShowSpeed’s livestream showed Seyi Tinubu, dressed in a Spain jersey, seated in the luxury box/VIP section of the stadium alongside his children and other family members.
During the livestream, a yet-to-be-identified man, who appeared to be accompanying Seyi Tinubu, approached the streamer and informed him that the Nigerian President’s son was present.
Speed then posed for photographs with the children, and exchanged greetings with Seyi Tinubu.
After shaking hands with him, Seyi Tinubu said, “It is nice meeting you.”
While interacting with the family, Speed jokingly told the kids, “Tell your dad to get me a Nigerian passport!”
The remark, delivered in his trademark humorous style before he continued his livestream.
The joke comes months after IShowSpeed’s visit to Nigeria during his Africa tour, where he received a warm reception from fans across the country.
It was reported that the 21-year-old American streamer visited Lagos as part of his 28-day Speed Does Africa tour, livestreaming his experiences across the city to millions of viewers worldwide.
During the visit, he toured Lagos Island, Freedom Park, Nike Art Gallery and other landmarks, met celebrities including Zlatan Ibile and Davido, and celebrated his birthday in Nigeria.
The visit also coincided with Speed becoming the first Black content creator to surpass 50 million YouTube subscribers.
His latest interaction with Seyi Tinubu comes amid his continued popularity in Africa following tours across several countries, including Angola, Ghana, South Africa and Nigeria.
