Musician Paul Okoye, better known as Rudeboy, has posted a cryptic social media message in defence of his late mother following explosive mistreatment allegations made by his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P).
“Unfortunately, you’re not here to defend yourself. Continue resting, Mum,” Rudeboy wrote on Friday, appearing to respond to his brother’s claims.
The public Exchange comes after Mr P released the eighth episode of his tell-all video series detailing the bitter, long-running feud within the Okoye family. In the video, Mr P recounted a past meeting at his Omole residence shortly after his wife, Lola, gave birth to their son. He claimed his late mother, Josephine Okoye, his brothers Jude, Paul, and Tony, along with visiting pastors, confronted the couple in the master bedroom.
Mr P alleged that no one offered them seats, forcing him and Lola to sit on the floor before his mother told her, “Young woman, we the Okoye family have decided that you should leave our son alone.”
The singer further claimed that Jude and Paul had previously opposed Lola’s pregnancy, alleging they circulated an anonymous email questioning the baby’s paternity. During the confrontation, Jude allegedly picked up a photograph of the infant and made a derogatory remark in Igbo, which Lola interpreted as calling the child a “bastard.”
“Nothing that Jude and Paul didn’t do for Lola to take that pregnancy out,” Mr P alleged, adding that pastors eventually pushed a weeping Lola out of the house.
Despite the painful incident, Mr P clarified that his wife and mother later reconciled, with Lola caring for her in hospital for months before her passing. He added that his mother eventually acknowledged the child was his and asked Jude and Paul to apologise, though no apology was ever tendered.
The fresh accusations mark the latest escalation in the public breakdown of the former P-Square pop duo and their elder brother and former manager, Jude.
