The Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Kabiru Amadu, has congratulated the Super Eagles for securing their place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

Nigeria’s qualification was confirmed on Thursday, November 13, 2024, after Libya’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali, ensuring the Super Eagles finished among the top two teams in their group.

Mr Amadu, who represents the Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, described the team’s early qualification as a testament to their quality and determination throughout the qualifying campaign.

He commended the players and coaching staff for their efforts and expressed confidence in the team’s ability to excel in the tournament, further cementing Nigeria’s reputation as a football powerhouse.

“The early qualification of the team is a testament to the quality of the players and their determination since the start of the qualifiers,” he stated.

“This is great news for Nigeria. I commend the players and coaches for a job well done and for proving that reaching the AFCON final earlier this year was no fluke.”

The Super Eagles will now turn their focus to preparing for the continental championship, which is scheduled to take place in Morocco in 2025.
