Nigerian skit maker, Chukwuebuka Amuzie, popularly known as Brain Jotter, on Sunday, July 21, 2024, met with Mike ‘Gentleman’ Ejeagha, the renowned highlife singer.
The meeting comes after Ejeagha’s song “Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche ” went viral earlier this month, owing to Brain Jotter’s dancing videos utilising the tune.
For more than 60 years, Ejeagha – who is regarded as one of Nigeria’s pioneers in the highlife genre – has influenced the development of the Igbo language and folklore through music.
Meanwhile, the new trending dance moves, which involve two or more individuals going in different directions, meeting at a point to execute a comical leg dance, and then chasing each other while the chorus “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” plays in the background, have continued to trend on social media.
The challenge, termed #GwoGwoGwoNgwoChallenge has been reproduced more than 20,000 times on TikTok, with many Nigerians, including celebrities like Kanayo O. Kanayo, taking part.
Visiting the 91-year-old legend, Brain Jotter gave Mr Ejeagha N2 million while appreciating him for his work.
He expressed his happiness by posting a picture of his encounter with Ejeagha on Instagram the next day.
“I’m glad I did this. Story will follow shortly,” Brain Jotter wrote.
