Many Nigerians have rushed to social media to respond to the Passing of Nollywood actor Francis Duru’s 15-year-old son, Ifeanyi.
The news sparked a rush of condolences from fans and colleagues alike.
The bereaved father praised Ifeanyi as a “champ” and a “lion” who fought valiantly.
“My champ! My lion, you fought like a lion. If this is the way he wants it, so be it. I still judge you faithful,” he said in a Thursday Instagram post alongside a photo of the late child.
“Ifeanyi, my champ. I will miss you, son. I will forever love you. Rest in peace son…rest….I give you thanks, Lord!”
In his reaction, former vice president in a post via his X account extended his condolences to the actor.
He said, “I extend my heartfelt thoughts and fervent prayers to Francis Duru and his cherished family as they traverse the sombre path of grief following the departure of his beloved son, Ifeanyi. The profound sorrow that accompanies the loss of a child delves to the very core of the soul, for it defies the ordained sequence where children bid farewell to their parents.
“May the Almighty envelop you and your loved ones, offering solace and strength in this trying hour. Permit me, on behalf of my kin, to convey my sincerest sympathies and unwavering support to you all. -AA
Also on X, minister of women affairs, Uju Ohanenye also disclosed that she paid a condolence visit to the family of Duru to extend her condolence to the actor over the passing of his son.
“Earlier today,i paid a condolence visit to the family of Francis Duru over the loss of his 15 years old son Ifeanyi.
“I commiserated with the immediate family and also prayed to God Almighty to rest the soul of the deceased in the bossom of the Lord and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.” the minister posted.
