President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate seeking approval of the ₦1.48 trillion Rivers State 2025 budget.
BusinessDay reports that in the letter read by Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, at the Thursday plenary, Tinubu stated ₦324 billion is earmarked for infrastructure development in the fiscal year, ₦166 billion for health, ₦75.6 billion for education, ₦31.4 billion for agriculture and ₦5 billion for free drugs’ distribution to all categories of people in the state.
He also said that the budget would prioritise the creation of 6,000 jobs.
The budget was referred to the Senate ad-hoc committee on Rivers rule and asked to revert as soon as practicable.
