Amid Rivers power tussle, Fubara swears in five commissioners

The governor said it is important the newly appointed officials work towards achieving the objectives of his administration.

Despite the political controversies over leadership in the state, the Rivers governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has sworn in five commissioners and two special advisers.

The newly appointed officials would be serving in the State’s Executive Council.

The commissioners recently sworn in include, Ilamu Abua, Roland Obed-Whyte, Austin Nadozie, Samuel Eyiba, and Samuel Anya.

Others who would serve as special advisers to the governor are Forgive Amachree and Achor Nna.

Addressing the newly appointed state officials, the governor said it is important they work towards achieving the objectives of his administration.

Mr Fubara noted that his administration’s commitment towards implementing projects that would have a direct positive impact on the people of Rivers.

“You are joining us to work towards meeting the expectations of Rivers people irrespective of the distractions.

“Governance is about the provision of quality and people-oriented services. It is about improving the people’s quality of life.

“This administration remains focused and deeply determined to deliver on its responsibility.” he said.
