Several Nigerians regardless of what they earn might end up in a distress situation over the high cost of living, a support group of the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has lamented.

The group, Nigeria Youth For Atiku (NYFA), while reacting to the multiple increases in fuel prices urged President Bola Tinubu to take necessary steps towards reversing the pump price of petrol.

According to Dare Dada, the spokesperson for the group, reversing the petrol pump price will help salvage the current living conditions experienced by Nigerians across the country.

Mr Dada said, “We concluded that if the government continue the trajectory, many Nigerians may end up in a distress situation regardless of the income they earn.

“Any hike in the price of an essential commodity as PMS  will affect  the prices of commodities in the market,” he said.

The group also stated that a review of the situation on the ground shows that any oolicy that would increase the sufferings of Nigerians should be implemented.

He warned that on no account should any government make policy decisions by impulse.

Dada said: “Policies being churned out require critical analysis, testing and feedback before execution.

“We need to be proactive and approach issues with apt and absolute consciousness,” he added.
