Pastor Godwin Asue has urged the Federal Government (FG) and President Bola Tinubu to adopt a holistic modality towards addressing Nigeria’s economic woes.
Mr Asue, the General Overseer of Divine Ministries in an interview, stressed the importance of diversifying Nigeria’s economy, moving away from total dependence on oil exports.
“We must invest in agriculture, manufacturing, and technology to create jobs and stimulate growth.
“There is a need for improved infrastructure, including roads, power supply, and transportation networks.
“If that is done, it would enhance business efficiency, attract foreign investment, and boost economic competitiveness,” he advised.
He urged the government to reduce unnecessary expenditures and prioritise strategic investments, block revenue leakages, and ensure transparency in government spending.
Mr Asue advised the FG to roll out policies that would support small and medium enterprises, stating that they have the potential for job creation and economic growth.
The cleric emphasised the need for improved education and skills development programmes, focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
He further called for increased collaboration between the public and private sectors, stating that partnerships would foster innovation, attract investment, and drive economic growth.
