BREAKING: Eight people feared dead as helicopter crashes in Rivers

Three bodies have been recovered while five others were still missing from the crash.

Eight people on board a helicopter have been feared dead in a crash in Rivers State State.

Leadership reports that six oil workers and two crew members were onboard the helicopter that nosedived into the ocean.

According to reports, the victims of the crash were working at the OML 123 oil field when the incident occurred.

It was also gathered that they were working at the Mimbo platform and the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel around 11:40 am on Thursday, October 24, 2024, before the crash happened.

A source, who pleaded anonymity said that all the victims on board were feared killed.

According to the source, three bodies have been recovered while five others were still missing from the crash.

The source also stated that rescue is currently ongoing 

“The helicopter belongs to Eastwind Aviation,” the source stated.
