The police in Lagos on Thursday arraigned a 39-year-old man, Fola Aladesanmi, at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing iPhones worth N2.7 million from his employer.
The defendant, a sales representative at UN Phones, residing at Sadiku Street, Abule-Egba, Lagos, is charged with conspiracy and theft.
The prosecutor, Insp. Samuel Mishozunnu, informed the court that the offences were committed between January and May at No 9, Ositalu St., Computer Village, Ikeja.
According to the prosecutor, the defendant stole six iPhones valued at N2.7 million, belonging to his employer, Mrs. Ugochi Nvene. One of the stolen phones was tracked to the buyer.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravene Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate F. D. Hughes granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Hughes adjourned the case until July 26 for mention.
