Senator Francis Fadahunsi has reported to the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo for questioning after allegedly making inciting remarks during a political campaign.
The Osun East representative arrived at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday alongside Samuel Erale, the Commissioner of Police overseeing election security.
The police directive, issued on Tuesday by the command’s State Criminal Investigation Department, summoned the lawmaker after a campaign video from an All Progressives Congress rally in Ilesa circulated online. In the recording, the senator spoke in Yoruba in comments interpreted as instructing supporters to “kill” members of the rival Accord Party.
Law enforcement intervened as election activities reached a peak ahead of Saturday’s Osun State governorship poll. Police authorities branded the alleged utterances threatening and provocative, warning that such rhetoric risks escalating political tensions across the state in the run-up to the ballot.
