Patience Ofure-Key, the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) governorship candidate in the September 21 election in Edo, has vowed to implement policies that will reduce poverty if elected.

Ofure-Key made this pledge during her campaign tour of Ogua, Ofuwenegbe Ward 5 in Ovia North East, Ukhiri Eresoyen Ward 8 in Ikpoba-Okha, and Ore-Oghene, Ward 5 in Oredo Local Government Area.

As the only female candidate in the race, Ofure-Key expressed gratitude for the community’s support and detailed her plans for the state.

“We need the right leadership in Edo for good governance and quality health care, particularly to reduce maternal and child mortality,” she stated.

She emphasized her plans for comprehensive skills acquisition and agricultural programs aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in food production and ensuring a secure environment for farmers.

Ofure-Key, a former chairman of Nigerians in the Diaspora, promised to collaborate with the diaspora commission to drive the state’s development.

Her manifesto focuses on impactful changes and empowerment programs to combat poverty and foster creativity among the populace.

Reflecting on her anti-human trafficking efforts, Ofure-Key acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders and the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, in reducing the scourge in Edo and Nigeria.

“Tourism development in my agenda is to leverage cultural heritage for economic growth through global attraction,” she added.

Ofure-Key urged Edo people to support and vote for the PRP, highlighting that the party’s mission, vision, and policies support a business-friendly environment.

Community leaders, Elder Sunday Bazuaye and Comrade Efosa Ada, expressed satisfaction with Ofure-Key’s plans and pledged their support for the PRP in the upcoming election.

Accompanying Ofure-Key on the tour were her running mate, Ojo Abuomwande, the party chairman, Dr. Greg Igbinomwanhia, the state secretary, Jeffrey Imonmion, and other party members.
