Nigeria has produced a total of 236,229,281 barrels of crude oil in the first half of 2024, according to data from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.

A report published by The PUNCH newspaper on Friday detailed the monthly production figures: 44.2 million barrels in January, 38.3 million barrels in February, 38.1 million barrels in March, 38.4 million barrels in April, 38.8 million barrels in May, and 38.3 million barrels in June.

The report indicates that the country’s total oil output for the first six months of 2023 was 219.5 million barrels, which is 16.73 million barrels lower than the output for the same period in 2024.

It added that in the first half of 2020, the country produced 302.42 million barrels of crude oil, which is 66 million barrels more than what was obtained in the same period in 2023.

These figures suggest that the nation’s oil production has been fluctuating, showing a declining trend over the years.

According to the report, the nation produced 1.43 million barrels of crude oil per day on average in the first month of the year, according to data from NUPRC, which was the greatest average daily output of crude oil over the six months.

The daily production of oil fell to 1.32 million barrels in February and then to 1.23 million barrels in March.
