Adams Oshiomhole, the lawmaker representing Edo North Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress has distributed 1,200 bags of NPK 50kg fertiliser to farmers in his constituency.
Speaking while inaugurating the distribution at Iyamoh community on Wednesday, August 7, the former Edo State governor said each farmer would be receiving a bag of fertiliser to boost their agricultural activities.
Represented by Abubakar Akokhia, the chairman of the Committee for the distribution of the fertiliser, Oshiomhole said each beneficiary would also receive a token for the transportation of the gifted fertilisers to their respective communities.
His words, “The distribution of the fertilisers is aimed at cushioning the effects of hardship on farmers in Edo North.
“The idea is to boost the agricultural activities of the people of the senatorial district.”
He further noted that the fertilisers will been distributed across party lines and he now represents the interest of all the constituents.
“The distribution of fertiliser is to support farmers to cushion economic effects on food production.
“The fertiliser is from the Federal Government and is aimed at enhancing food security,” Oshiomhole added.
