Around 30 villagers, including women and children, have been killed following an early-morning terror attack on Naridon Village in the Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The assailants also torched numerous homes during the assault on Monday.
In response to the killings, President Bola Tinubu ordered security forces, the police, and intelligence services to intensify operations, hunt down the attackers, free abducted victims, and restore order to the area.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly, secure the release of abducted individuals, and restore normalcy to the region,” the President said.
Speaking via a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu denounced the strike as a barbaric, cowardly, and unprovoked act of terror aimed at defenceless citizens. He vowed that those responsible for disrupting the recent stability achieved in Kaduna State would face justice, while offering his condolences to Governor Uba Sani, the state government, and the bereaved families.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to reinforcing the nation’s security setup, equipping personnel, and dismantling criminal networks, the President assured the affected communities of full federal support. He also called on local residents to assist security agencies by sharing actionable intelligence to help prevent future attacks.
